The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Nathalie Rabe as the new Director of Communications.

Rabe who hails from Madagascar replaces Junior Byram of Cameroon and becomes the first female to assume the position.

Her appointment was made known by CAF's president Ahmad Ahmad during the just concluded women's football symposium in Morocco.

She previously worked with Ahmad when he was the leader of the Madagascar Football Federation (FMF) before resigning in April 2017 to commit to his CAF post.

Nathalie Rabe who has been part of CAF media team for several years until her appointment, is known as a politician back home and has served as Minister of State Communication in her country.
