Tunisia, Egypt and Cameroon have all crushed out in the first round of the ongoing FIVB World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria.
Each of the three teams could not get the least of two victories required to get pass the first round of the group stages.
Tunisia, the current African champion were pooled alongside fellow representatives Cameroon, Australia, Serbia, world ranked number two USA and European champions Russia.
They were the less performer of the three having registered five defeats, winning two sets and conceding fifteen in their five oppositions.
African vice-champion Egypt being at their 6th consecutive appearance, faced the high adversities of France, Netherlands, Canada, China, world ranked number one and vice-champions of the competition Brazil.
The pharaohs ended the with one win over the Popular Republic of China 3 sets to 1 in their penultimate game of the competition. They grabbed a total of four sets and conceded thirteen in the five games played.
Cameroon were the most awaited of the three teams with their 4th participation at the World championships after 1990, 2010 and 2014.
The Indomitables Lions thrashed Tunisia 3-0 in their first game but could not earn a second decisive win in Italy. Captain Nathan Wouneinbana and the rest of the team conceded twelve sets and gained four as their overall performance in the competition.
From September 29 to October 20, the women's category of the competion will be staged in Japan. The Malkia-Strikers of Kenya alongside the Indomitables Lionesses of Cameroon will be Africa's representatives.
