The final three nominees for various categories for FIFA Best Football Awards 2018 have been revealed by the world football governing body.

In the women's circle, Brazil great Marta is up against Norwegian sensational striker Ada Hegerberg and German star Dzsenifer Marozsan.


The trio were voted for the prestigious honour by fans, journalists, national teams coaches and captains after an excellent campaigns in the outing season.

Olympique Lyon's Reynald Pedros, Asako Takakura of Japan and Sarina Wiegman from the Netherlands are the finalists up for the women's coaching top prize.


Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah were nominated for the Best FIFA Men's Player award, but there was no place for Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Modric helped Real Madrid to a third successive Champions League crown last term, with the Portuguese skipper netting 44 times, including 15 goals in Europe.

Like Ronaldo, Salah had a magnificent debut season for Liverpool, finding the net 44 times in all competition as the Reds reached the Champions League final.

Despite been overlooked for the top accolade, Argentine superstar Messi gets a nod for the Puskas Award for his solo effort against Nigeria during the FIFA World Cup finals.

Former Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, World Cup winning manager Didier Deschamps alongside Croatia's Zlatko Dalic vies for the men's coaching award.

The award ceremony will be held at Royal Festival Hall in London on Monday, September 24, 2018.
