Bayelsa Queens have been heavily rewarded by their state governor Seriake Dickson after emerging winners of the Nigeria Women Premier League Super 4 competition.

The Restoration Queens as they are nicknamed spanked defending champions Nasarawa Amazons 2-0 in the final match of the colourful NWPL Super 4 last Sunday at the Agege Stadium.

Second half goals from Izoamaka Igwe and Joy Bokiri did the magic for Bayelsa Queens as the club recorded her fourth Nigerian women topflight league title and her first since 2007.

Receiving the victorious ladies at the Government House Yenagoa, governor Dickson made the announcement of a N22m cash reward to the team, while congratulating them on their success.

The governor also directed the release a costal bus to the queens for transportation and said the state sports sector will be equipped with world class facilities.

The twenty two million cash reward is in addition to the three million Bayelsa Queens received from the NWPL for the 2017-18 league title.
