Striker Ini Umotong is extremely excited after scoring her first goal for Nigeria senior women's football team, the Super Falcons.

The 24-year-old played at the just concluded four-nation invitational tournament in China where Nigeria finished third with an emphantic win over Romania.

Umotong, Onome Ebi, Rita Chikwelu and Vera Ihezuo got on the score-sheet as Falcons trounced the Romanians 4-1 to end their campaign on high after their opening day loss to hosts China.

The Brighton & Hove Albion forward who made her international debut in March 2015, is thrilled to get her first goal which she has described as one the best moment of her career.

"I'm thrilled to get my first goal for Nigeria. To come off the bench and score is one of the stand out moment of my career," Umotong stated on her club's official website.

After scoring her first international goal, the former Portsmouth Ladies and Oxford United Women player hopes to keep working hard for Brighton this season, while eyeing a place in Nigeria's squad to this year's FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

"It [2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup] is 100 percent where I want to be. I’m hoping to work hard and perform well enough with Brighton to stand out and be included with the tournaments they have coming up this year.

"Being involved in the last World Cup in Canada is the highlight of my career so far, to get there again is my target and I will do everything in my power to get there."
