Asisat Oshoala has described Barcelona as 'one of the best clubs in the world' after completing a loan move to the Spanish side.

Oshoala joins Barcelona from Chinese Women Super League champions Dalian Quanjian until the end of the 2018-19 football campaign.

The 24-year-old who has been at Quanjian since February 2017, is keen to remain in shape ahead of Nigeria's participation at this year's FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

The former Liverpool and Arsenal attacker is excited about her move to Spain and she is looking forward to creating history with the club.

"This is obviously one of the best clubs in the world. The team has a great history and wonderful football mentality," she said on the club's website.

"My goal is to strengthen the team and help them to win and make history. This is a fantastic opportunity because I'm sure something big will happen here."

Oshoala played a significant role in helping Quanjian to winning back-to-back CWSL titles, scoring 24 goals in the process, over two seasons.

The former BBC Women's Footballer of the Year is a three-time Africa Women's Cup of Nations winner with Nigeria's Super Falcons, having won the title in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

She is in line to make her debut in the Primera División Femenina with Barcelona who trail league leaders Atletico Madrid with three points, when they host Albacete on Sunday.
