Brazilian football legend Rivaldo has been named technical director at Moroccan third division outfit Chabab Mohammedia.
The 46-year-old former Barcelona and AC Milan star will be making a return to Africa for the second time, having played for Angolan side Kabuscorp in 2012.
His appointment which was announced via the club's official Facebook page, is a move to help the 1980 Moroccan champions return to the topflight league since their last participation in 2009.
Currently top of the third-tier league halfway through the season, Mohammedia are aiming to earn promotion into the second division.
Founded in 1948, thus making it one of the oldest football clubs in the country, however, Rivaldo's arrival has now shot Chabab Mohammedia into the limelight as an ambitious club.
The club is owned by one of the wealthiest men in the area Hicham Ait Menna who is hoping to return the club to its former glory through the capture of Rivaldo.
For Rivaldo, he is a 2002 FIFA World Cup winner. He won the 1999 Ballon d'Or prestigious award and the UEFA Champions League with Milan in 2003.
